gas pedal has no power 1998 plymouth neon?
I've just bought my 1998 plymouth neon and everything is working fine but when I floor it theres no power. It's just like pushing the gas pedal half way to the floor, thats what it feels like when I floor it. Now I bought it from a young girl and people are telling me that the mechanic adjusted something so that the girl can't ruin the motor or something but I really don't know. Could it be the gas filter or is the cable adjusted somewhere? If someone could help this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
As noted above, the first thing to do is change the fluids and filters as well as the spark plugs. It may be something that simple.
The throttle linkage is a cable attached directly to the throttle body. The only way you could restrict that would be to put a stopper on the throttle cam on the TB. I guess it's possible but I've yet to see anyone actually do it.
