Understanding the seventh chord guitar
So you have lower major and minor chords and how it is constructed, but the seventh chords confuse you a little. Add a note multiplies the tone of a rope. But once you understand a few simple ideas, it's the seventh chords as a simple "good old major and minor.
First, let's chord symbol notation. Which is the difference between the G-7, Gmaj7, Gm7 and all other variations you see?
Two points are easy to remember
The letter by itself means that large. G = G major
The seven by itself, minor seventh to say. G7 = G major triad with minor seventh
Second, talking about the distance or interval between two notes. For most intervals is a major and minor version. 3rds or 6ths major and minor example. Here we focus only on the 7th.
Two points are easier to remember:
A major seventh is always a half step (one) below the root of your rope. So if the root is a G chord, the seventh is an F #.
A seventh child is always a full step (two steps) below the root of his rope. So with the same g roots, their seventh child is an F natural.
So in that spirit, we will see different variations seventh string, we can find.
G7 = G triad Major with minor seventh = GBDF
Gmaj7 = G major triad with major seventh = # GBDF
Gm7 = G minor triad with minor seventh = G Bb DF
Gm (maj 7) = G minor chord with a major seventh DF = G # Bb
Things get a little more that occur when you add in the decline and agreements increased. In triads increased and decreased, which is the fifth (highest) which controls the colors. Here are our choice:
Gaug7 = G augmented triad with a minor seventh = GBD # F
Gauge (Maj7) = G augmented triad with a major seventh = GBD # F #
Gdim (Maj7) = G diminished triad with major seventh G = F # Bb Db
Sun 7 G = G half diminished triad with a seventh = GF Bb minor Db
(Special note here. Jazz musicians call it a Gm7 (b5). It looks like a more complicated to make, but it is effective that the use half diminished, because it gives a direction instead of having to remember what "half diminished" means. Thus, playing a Gm7 - G Bb DF - then 5 th Floor - B goes to BB).
Gdim7 = G triad with diminished seventh diminished completely (it took for another half-step, one) G Bb Db Fb =
Remember, this pair of points since the beginning of the rating. Then practice explaining each version of seventh chords for each outcome possible. Put them on the stick and was on his way to 7 in paradise!
