How much do guitar makers make a year?
I am interested in becoming a luthier, but money i'v heard is bad. What is an average salary of a luthier? and how people who own a guitar shop to make repairs, sales and lessons do?
The problem is that there is a wide range of difference between a rookie and a well established maker. In addition, like many things luck plays an important role. Jim Olson is another luthier who fight for their livelihood until James Taylor arrived and began to use a guitar and soon Olson Olson had to stop accepting new orders and a waiting list several years have increased much. He takes command of new, but the base price for all of his guitars is $ 12,500 more if you want extras like or lots of exotic wood inlay. A beginner luthier do will not be able to collect $ 12,500 for a guitar as his name is not defined. (There are many makers of upscale women on the road. Check out Linda Manzer and Judy Threet. They call up Olson and deserve.) The problem is that the construction of the guitar is a slow painful process for converting a dozen guitars per year is all we can expect a one-person shop. There are hundreds of custom luthiers out there so obviously there are many people who think they are worth.
